Vintage Chinese Red Lacquer & Gilt Carved Wooden Panel, Architectural Salvage

  
This antique Chinese panel is from my mother's estate. She treasured it, but never really told us the story of why specifically this piece had a hallowed place in her collection. My family lived in the Philippines in the 1960s and we collected a lot of Chinese treasures at that time. It's carved from one piece of wood.

The art carving features people, trees, horses, and a bridge. It appears to be a battle with infantry and cavalry. The intricate gilt carving is created in deep relief showcasing the skill and drama of the Chinese aesthetic of the last century.

Legend of the "Three Warriors, " the prominent figures from the Three Kingdoms period, which includes Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Measurements: 16 inches x 6 inches x 2 inches deep.
