1/8" tall red lacquered "frame containing figures and scenery inside. It seems that this panel was originally a fragment of a larger carving piece, as there are unfinished stripes of the wood along the edges at the junctions, see photos.. Dating most likely from circa mid to late 19th century - early 1900s. Base: 14" across x 5 7/8"high. Internal "frame":10 7/8" across x 4 1/2" high x 0.3/8 deep.
