Antique Chinese Hand Carved High Relief Red & Gold-Gilt Wood Horizontal Heavy Panel with Openwork from the middle to late 19th Century, Lt. Depicting highly detailed very precise high relief in real depth Court Scene with hand painted multiple Figures of Court Nobles including men, women, two children, wise-men in the center and Court Garden Scenery with trees and vines brunches. The piece features horizontal flat base in red with about 1 1/4" tall red lacquered "frame with rounded figural corners, containing all figures and scenery inside - just gorgeous.. Dating most likely from circa mid to late 19th century - probably very early 1900s.
Base: 25 1/4" across x 6 1/2"high. Internal "frame":23 1/2" across x 4 3/4" high x 1 1/4 deep. Please, note: different monitors may show some difference in colors or shades. Colors may appear darker/lighter/adjusted vibrancy than real life due to the screen/device type you are viewing this on.
Used Condition: The most important area with figures and scenery inside of internal frame is in perfect antique condition. All carved details: figures and landscape inside of frame are present and undamaged with probably some not major wear to the gold gilt finish.The base shows some expected wear to the red gold paint, points of wood rough imperfections mostly at the edges, scratches and noticeable damage: not major crack on the top edge, some chipped off areas all around base edges and on the very edges of internal frame. All carving figures and scenery inside are not damaged... There is some dust inside of carved details.
