Add this store to my favorites. High-relief panel in lacquered and gilded carved wood, with mother-of-pearl inlays, depicting Asian figures in a raised garden, probably a Chinese dignitary with his guards and servants visiting a sage seated at the edge of the water, perhaps the representation of the Eight Daoist Immortals, from Chaozhou, South China, from the 19th century. This panel is in good general condition and is very decorative.
The high relief is gilded with gold leaf. The part forming the floor is decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays (gaps). A note: wear and lack of paint in the background, wear of polychrome and gilding in places, some gaps on the frame, see photos. Frame : 41.2cm x 25cm / 3.5cm.
