Pair of Chinese Bamboo Panel W. Calligraphy By Puru, Last Emperor Puyi's Cousin. Depicting early winter scene of bamboo standing green in the snow, and gentle winter breeze with lone bird chirping - beautiful calligraphy by Puru, signed and inscribed on the left panel. Puru (1896 - 1963), Cousin of the Chinese Last Emperor, Puyi's cousin is famed artist as well-known as Chang Ta-ch'ien or Zhang Da Quan. Together, they became known as P'u of the North and Chang of the South, a famous artist, a nobleman, and above all, a great calligrapher.
