Pair Antique French Black Forest Wood Carved Gothic Chimera Lion Head Panels
Pair of small antique French late 19th century hand carved wooden panels depicting Gothic style lion / Chimera heads in high relief. I believe the panels to be carved from Oak. They would have originally been part of the decoration of an ornate piece or furniture or a fireplace mantel. They have since been fitted onto wooden blocks at some point.
Dimensions - 13.5cm H x 8.5cm W x 6.5D (at furthest point). In very good overall condition with light marks and wear associated with age and use. A stunning, well made pair of panels which would enhance the decor of any home. The items I sell are in a used antique or vintage condition. This means they may have related flaws or defects.
