This is a nice carving, but unfortunately it is unsigned. It's relief carved out of a single panel of wood, 30" tall, 11 5/8" wide, and up to 1.5 thick in some areas. Joseph and Mary have a halo above their heads, and Jesus has one off to the side. It has a good weight to it, probably oak or another similar wood.
It has some different age issues. There's a couple of scattered dot stains to the left of Joseph's head. The back has a couple of holes where the previous wire was installed, and two tacks at the bottom.
The corners have expected minor wear and very small chips. The last thing to note is a hairline crack on the bottom half of the right edge (see last two photos). It looks to be a typical sign of wood drying over time.
