Fine antique Victorian era cabinet door or furniture panel, hand carved solid European oak with figural profile, scrolled acanthus and two winged serpents holding acorn & oak leaf! I just love these beautiful old Victorian & Napoleon III era carved panels. Most often removed from cabinet doors and they make simply lovely wall hangings. This one very interesting with the serpent figures, note the wings curving over the top of the round profile carving.Each holding a single acorn & oak leaf. Scrolled acanthus along the bottom and then there's the profile. All hand carved into a solid oak panel, lovely and a great aged patina to the finish. Perfect wall hanging decorative piece! I see no real damage, just a knot hole on the top edge.
