This is an antique mid Qing Dynasty c. 1800 Chinese all hand carved wood in the form of two dragons fighting for the pearl of wisdom. It is is great architectural piece that was taken from a piece of 200 year old furniture similar to the bed shown in the last picture (not included).. During the Qing Dynasty the affluent upper class could afford to have elaborately carved furniture. During the cultural revolution the red guard destroyed much of these pieces of furniture along with their elaborate carvings. Fortunately some were saved and stored for over 70 years until they were again discovered and made available for a short time. They are no longer allowed to export these old carvings from China as it tries to hold on to its old heritage. This is your chance to own a piece of China's artistic history.
