Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Hand Carved Architectual Panel Birds & Flowers

  
This is an antique mid Qing Dynasty c. 1800 Chinese all hand carved wood in the form of two song birds surrounded by plum blossoms facing a double happiness kanji. It is a great architectural piece that was taken from a piece of 200 year old furniture similar to the bed shown in the last picture. During the Qing Dynasty the affluent upper class could afford to have elaborately carved furniture. During the cultural revolution the red guard destroyed much of these pieces of furniture along with their elaborate carvings. Fortunately some were saved and stored for over 70 years until they were again discovered and made available for a short time. They are no longer allowed to export these old carvings from China as it tries to hold on to its old heritage. This is your chance to own a piece of China's artistic history. This antique Chinese carving measures an impressive 22" long by 6" tall by 3/4 thick (56 x 15 x 4 cm). Having been stored since the rule of the destructive red guard, it remains in very good condition. You'll love it, I guarantee it.........
