40s MEXICAN CARVED RELIEF WOOD CATHEDRAL CHURCH SCENE FOLK ART WALL PLAQUE PANEL

  

Vintage 1930s-1940s Mexican Folk Art hand carved Bas Relief framed painted landscape scene. Beautiful detailed depiction of rustic tile roofed homes with a Cathedral, Church, Iglesia tower and crosses and cloudy sky in background. Beautifully hand painted in muted tones.

Signed at frame border "CASILLA" or? Plain box frame, part of the actual piece of wood. A pencil sketch for an unfinished carving at verso of art. In VG vintage condition with minor general signs of age and wear, a stable drying crack at top center that extends vertically 4 inches into picture. Warm age-related patina to wood surfaces.

Measures approximately 13.25 x 10 inches in diameter, and 3/4 inch deep. Weighs approximately 1.25 lbs. Will weigh between 2 and 3 lbs packaged.
