Pair Of Stunning Antique French Carved Wood Panels Walnut Nudes Carving 1890
On offer here is this pair of beautiful French carved wooden panels carved in deep relief and framed. Circa 1890 28 x 18. Made in France sometime around 1890 these two beautiful carved panels would once have been doors to a piece of French furniture. Beautifully carved they both depict classical nudes one holding a sacred heart with a child by her side the other holding a crescent and a bow this one probably depicts Diane the goddess of hunting.
They are both card in deep relief and very good detail when they have decorative carved frames around them. The colour and patina is fantastic. They are in very good condition none of the main panels or frames are split there is about 15 very old woodworm holes on one of the frame sections but this has been treated and Phil, this is not life and very old nothing to be worried about.
