Carved Architectural Panel Mounted Knight & Castle 25 Decorative Wood Salvage
Offered from a local NJ estate is a Continental Architectural Carved Wood Decorative PANEL. 24 3/4" Tall 12 3/4" wide and 1 3/4 Thick (it is 2 pieces of wood sandwiched together).
The top edge is notched or crenelated like a castle wall. A Knight on horseback rides in an archway with castle battlements in background. He is in high relief with his horse's legs and reins carved out of the wood while the castle in background is chip carved into the background wood. Very good condition and workmanship. Very dark wood, a few of the photos (side views) have been lightened to show definition.
It looks like he may have had a sword at one time but he does NOT now. All of the items I sell are vintage, antique or collectible and will show some signs of use or wear.Please do not be expecting to receive a "new" condition item. Even excellent condition items will not look new and will show some signs of use. I will be happy to provide more information and/or photos.
